پھر یوں ہوا کہ دل میں کسی کو بسا لیا
پھر یوں ہوا کہ خواب سجائے تمام عُمر

پھر یوں ہوا کہ وعدہ وفا کر نہ سکا وہ
پھر یوںہوا دیپ جلائے تمام عُمر

پھر یوں ہوا کہ دامنِ دل داغ داغ تھا
پھر یوں ہوا کہ داغ مٹائے تمام عُمر

پھر یوں ہوا کہ راستے ویران ہو گئے
پھر یوںہوا کہ پھول کِھلائے تمام عُمر

پھر یوں ہوا کہ دکھ ہمیں محبوب ہو گئے
پھر یوں ہوا کہ دل سے لگائے تمام عُمر

پھر یوں ہوا کہ اور کسی کے نہ ہو سکے
پھر یوں ہوا کہ وعدے نبھائے تمام عُمر

پھر یوں ہوا کہ فاصلے بڑھتے چلے گئے
پھر یوں ہوا کہ رنج بُھلائے تمام عُمر
