Sr Java Developer

Location: Washington; DC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build and customize the inbound and outbound identity related information flows from authoritative sources to target systems thru ICAM provisioning infrastructure
• Integrate provisioning approval work flow with current institutional approval work flow processes and systems
• Integrate ICAM provisioning services with existing service request portal
• Integrate identity related information flows to and from ldap directories
• Integrate task flows with BPM or message broker systems for asynchronous interfaces
• Build user interface for end users, system administrators and approvers wherever appropriate
• Extend the ICAM out of the box product to incorporate flows for institution specific entities in reference to the identities (e.g. organization, office location etc.)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong understanding of Object Oriented technology and standard java development frameworks
• Software Development Life Cycle Experience.
• Extensive knowledge in Java, EE, Java SE 1.4/1.5/1.6, STRUTS, SPRING, EJB, Servlets, RMI, JDBC, JNDI, JNI, Java Beans - POJO.
• Strong JEE programming experience and knowledge in web architecture; able to use REST and classical web services for building web application.
• Expertise in XML, XSLT, XPath and related technologies to integrate and aggregate data from multiple applications. Able to use HTMLm XHTML, CSS, JSP and other presentation technologies to build easy to use and interactive user interfaces.

• Experience in one of the following products or equivalent technologies
a) CA Siteminder or Web session management technologies
b) LDAP directory interfaces using directories such as MS Active Directory
c) Identity life cycle management technologies such as Sailpoint
• Knowledge of server side and client side portal technologies
• Working knowledge in JSP, Java Scripts, XML/XSLT, HTML and DHTML
• Experience in analysis & design using UML and case complete.

VULMS: Virtual University Leaning Management System

Visit daily your VULMS for checking latest on lectures and opening of any new assignment/ GDB/Online Quiz etc. Also see announcements, and see you profile, fee and other important issues there.

MDB: Moderated Discussion Board

Ask questions from your instructors and get answers. Please be respectful in choosing your words to the teacher. Be concise and to the point.

GDB: Graded Discussion Board

This is used for the test through discussion on a specific topic by the instructor/ teacher. It's graded and must be answered in given time. Answer must be as per the prescribed rules to the instructor. Never just copy and paste from any source. It can earn you and the originator both Zero marks for forgery. So just take the idea for your GDB from http://www.virtualians.pk & make in your own words that will be best for you otherwise you will be get the zero marks & the sharing person also. So always try to just take the Idea & make in your own words.

VU Online Quiz:

It's the most important activity. All subjects will have mostly 4 quizzes in total, 1-2 before and rest after Mid Term. It's graded and you have specific time to answer the questions. Now the Study it Self:

Well you all must have your books, with you. In CS101, Learn HTML, JAVA, etc, it's important for all students. This will be required till final exams too. Rest all is easy and you all can do it...

Style of Papers:

Please remember that here almost 75 % papers is composed of MCQs and rest based on short and long questions. So remember that Mid/Final Term Papers are almost on similar lines.

Taking lectures:

Each lecture is over 55 mins, and if you have time then you must study through it, or at least listen/ watch some of these which you find difficult.

The study Plan:

One requires average 30 mins time to completely study one simple lecture, or max 40-45 mins. So read and high light important lines as they come in MCQs.

Overall, the study is not difficult. Please go through all handouts carefully. All questions come from the same.

Virtual University is one of the top far-away universities which is providing quality education all over the world virtually. In virtual university all kind of students are studying in different degree's courses. Most of the students are doing jobs and studying part time. But they are not paying full concentration to their studies. So that's why they get failed or freeze the semester, sometime they get pass but with very low marks.

The study method:

Study method in virtual university is very peculiar, easy and timesaving. Student can watch the lectures from you tube by opening the website www.youtube.com/user/vu all the lectures are available there. Or student can order the handouts and DVDs from the vu bookshop. URL for ordering the CD's from the virtual http://bookshop.vu.edu.pk. Most of the student doesn't order CD's not the handouts. So they think that they MAY MAKE it.

But all the courses are related to each other. So they get problem when they take exam. Exam method is very simple but if SOME ONE IS NOT COMPUTER LITERATE and does not know about Virtual University method kindly does take the Virtual University Zero Semester. It will help you to understand the study method of VU.

There are some steps that will help you in study and getting excellent grades at Virtual University

Watching a video lecture is compulsory.
Not only memorize but also understand the concepts thoroughly. You must learn application of concepts.
Half an hour for reading lecture handouts
One hour for watching video lecture
Half an hour for self-preparation of notes for your reference
Complete your work on daily basis to avoid any problems.
Time management is essential. If you're given a quiz, don't postpone; get started the same day you get the quiz. Otherwise you'll have to face users' load on the server near the due date.
In exams, always write "to-the-point" answer for every question. "Time management" is more important than writing long stories.
Do visit your LMS on regular basis to be in touch with latest news about your course.
Post your lecture related problems only on MDB and do not send through e-mail because such questions will not be answered through e-mail.
