میں جِس مکان میں رہتا ہوں اس کو گھر کر دے

یہ روشنی کے تعاقب میں بھاگتا ہوا دِن
جو تھک گیا ہے تو اَب اس کو مختصر کر دے

میں زندگی کی دعا مانگنے لگا ہُوں بہت
جو ہوسکے تو دُعاؤں کے بے اثر کر دے

ستارہ سحری ڈوبنے کو آیا ہے
ذرا کوئی میرے سورج کو باخبر کر دے

میری زمین، میرا آخری حوالہ ہے
سو میں رہوں نہ رہوں اس کو بارور کر دے

میں اپنے خواب سے کٹ کر جیوں تو میرا خُدا
اُجاڑ دے میری مٹی کو در بدر کر دے

Ik Bheek K Dono Kas'sey Hain

ik pyaas k dono pyaasay hain

 

hum khaiti hain, tum baadal ho,

hum nadiya hain tum saagar ho

 

Yeh dil hai k jalte seene mein,

ik dard ka phorra alhar sa

 

Na gupt rahe na phoot bahe,

koi marham ho koi nishtar ho

 

hum saanjh samay ki chhaaya hain,

tum charrhti raat ki chandarmaa

 

hum jatey hain tum aye ho,

phir mail ki soorat kiyoonker ho!
