Yemen: Mujahideen storm military airbase al-Anad. State-run radio station seized

The news agency Xinhua reports that the Mujahideen in the Arabian Peninsula took control over a state-run radio station by storming it the capital of the province of Lahj on Wednesday.

"The Islamic fighters stormed today the building of the government-owned radio station in Lahj's capital Houta, forcing journalists and staff to leave the building", a local official said, confirming that fierce clashes also flared around the provincial branch building of the Central Bank of Yemen.

The official, who requested anonymity, said the Mujahideen had not yet started broadcasting.

Local residents reported that the  fighters confiscated money from postal and bank branches.

Data on fatalities and injuries are sketchy. Eyewitnesses said they saw several dead bodies of puppet troops littering on the streets outside the bank branch.

A doctor in a local hospital, Ibn Khaldun, reported that dozens of soldiers with wounds of varying degrees were brought there. For now, 4 infidel-enforcers are known to be killed.

Officials said that reserve units of Saleh's military forces were sent to a nearby military base al-Anad to repel the assault of the Mujahideen. It is to be recalled that the Mujahideen announced a reward of 25,000 dollars per head of 12 commanders of this base.

Large group of the Mujahideen  started to storm the al-Anad airbase in north-east (see map) of the Lahj province on Wednesday. The airbase is located some 337 km south from the capital of Sana'a. The Mujahideen attacked the airbase with heavy machine guns and grenade launchers.

Puppet state security officials said that Muslims were firing on government buildings including police stations and headquarters of the secret police.

According to local residents, the electricity supply to the city is limited at the moment, and many shops and markets are closed, shootings and bombings are heard everywhere, people do not go out.

It is to be recalled that units of AQAP attacked on Wednesday morning another town in southern Yemen and took control over most of the settlement of Houta.

According to the Yemeni military success modzhzhahedov contributed to the early hour, which they chose to attack the city of El Hautu - the provincial capital Lahdzh.

According to the Saleh's military, the Mujahideen success is explained by early hours, which they chose to attack the town of Houta, the capital of province of Lahj.

Information about losses among the military of the Saleh's regime is not available.

It is to be recalled that late May the Mujahideen took control over the provincial capital of Abyan, Zinjibar, chasing Saleh's troops from there. The Islamic Emirate of Abyan was proclaimed.

Since that time, the Saleh's army has repeatedly tried to recapture the province from the Mujahideen, without success. The Mujahideen strengthen their presence and expanded their territorial control, despite the participation of the air force of the American terrorist government in the battles.

According to recent reports, the American terrorist government is so concerned about the successes of the Islamic fighters, that it decided to build urgently a special military base in the Persian Gulf to create a springboard for military action against the Yemeni Mujahideen.

It is to be recalled that Western countries expressed fears that the Mujahideen  could take control over the waterways in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, through which large transits of oil are carried out.
